Showcasing the work of Landscape Photographer Deborah Cartwright, Earthquest Photography is an example of ‘Expressive Landscape’ Photography. For many years Deborah had been involved with carrying out historical research of the ancient sites in the UK and overseas. This work provided the opportunity to photograph many enigmatic, historic places such as temples, castles, abbey ruins and prehistoric monuments. These ancient and mysterious places not only have a history, but a unique and emotive presence in the landscape. Earthquest Photography captures that unique and sometimes fantastical presence and invites the viewer into the fabric of its story.

Deborah draws upon her substantial background in ancient historical research in bringing a deep knowledge of aesthetics, visual mythology and cultural impact to her photographic work and to her ideas about the genre of landscape photography. Deborah’s photographs have appeared in various alternative history books and publications.
